Limited information at the moment. Helping Sr owner sell this cue. Any payment will be made directly to him via paypal, cash app or Zelle. I know he has at least one of these don’t recall which. He is listing the cue for $550 obo. He is the second owner, it was a 9 ball score. Loser couldn’t come up with the bank to cover his losses. Joe Bananas owned Lockland Billiards in the 60’s and 70’s. He is hoping someone will enjoy this cue as he did in his younger days. It has been a closet queen for 20 years, I’m waiting to hear back when these pictures were taken. He said according to the original owner (deceased) it was customized by Brunswick when purchased sometime in the 50’s. It has a steel joint and is heavily weighted in the butt for a total of approx 26 oz. I asked if the weight is removable his response, “Don’t know cause I liked it that way”. He said the original owner wanted the weight in the butt to break like a mule And the steel joint so he wouldn't break it breaking, say that fast three times or ten. He said the shaft is fuller than what was common in that day but not sure on MM. Please PM any offers assuming the butt is straight, he is going to check it and let me know. I will help him arrange shipping w/ proper packing. Thx, Shooter08

it doesnt seem to be an old willie hoppe cue. it does look like a titlest butt. the rings are not what ive seen and as said modified. but i dont think brunswick modified stuff back them. i could be wrong. and the hoppe cues has the signature on them. but some cut the butts thinner and it went away.
if not for the titlest look i would have said an import.
you are going to need someone to identify it for you

Were there imports in the 50’s of Titlist knockoffs? I questioned the work being done by Brunswick but being that Joe is not the original owner I knew it was probably hearsay. The interesting thing is I have a Hoppe from the same time frame with no idea who modified it. I will check on the Hoppe sig and get a pic if there. Thank you. Shooter08

A lot from this cue just looks wrong - the leather wrap is not from a Hoppe cue - if it is leather - all the ring and collar work looks off - Ss joint is not Hoppe — the bumper area is not Hoppe —-it may have been a Brunswick Hoppe at one time. — hard to say from these photos - I don’t think that it is even close to a $550 cue however.- it is either an import cue or maybe a very chopped up Willie Hoppe cue. $100 to $200 IMO.

Thank you Mike, unfortunately I have not seen the cue in person. I am going off the pictures, description, and memory of the owner. He did own a pool hall in the 60s-70's so I am a bit surprised if he would be mistaken on it being a Hoppe, but I am working on it to find out. No good deed goes unpunished, jk. Shooter08

The original Owner of this cue told the current owner, who’s had now for 50 plus years, that it was a modified Hoppe cue with the work done by Brunswick. The work being a steel joint installed and different shaft built, both with the pearlized collars pictured and additional weight. I have not been able to find anyone who recalls Brunswick modifying cues And all the current owner can tell me was that there was a Brunswick dealer local to the area this cue was purchased. I’m thinking maybe someone who did cue work at this dealer modified it. I believe the the name Hoppe cue may of been used by some to describe any Brunswick cue with veneers during the time frame being discussed. Nothing has been done to this cue other than tips be replaced In at least the last 50 years. The cue is not a Willie Hoppe cue, the current owner never saw a signature on this cue. Any info that helps ID this cue would be greatly appreciated by Joe Bananas and myself. Thanks or your time. Shooter08

Please PM any offers and I will provide them to the seller or if preferred PM for his phone number, he is willing to answer any questions he is able too. He does have access to this page to keep updated on any discussion posted here. Thx, Shooter08

*****Please see above. Offers will be presented to the owner and payment will be directly to him. I have no financial interest in this sale and will not be involved in the payment or shipping of this cue purchase transaction. I am only providing the details that Joe, he is 73 I believe, has told me and hope to help have this cue find a new home, wherever that may be. Thx, Shooter08****
