Wonderful cue, Joe. This would be about as nice as it gets from Sailor. Probably early to mid 70s, and not that easy to do a fancy cue then. This has to be the best Sailor cue I've ever seen, and of course, has that flared buttplate that not too many others did.

That's really nice! I've seen a couple Sailors locally but nothing quite that fancy.

That has to be the fanciest Sailor cues I've ever seen. Frank is a great guy as well, not sure if he made it to Red Shoes yesterday or not. He still gets out once and a while with help from his friends. One of the old school Chicago area players, a legend in these parts..

I have heard several stories, his own, Spain, etc... so I really do not know what the real story is...

I'll take an educated guess. Spain blank, at least this one. Spain blank veneer colors are a bit of a clue, they're a bit "duller" than others in that era of cuemaking. Also, if you back those points down to where they would join, it would more resemble a Spain blank in overall length of the forearm than others. Not absolute, just an educated guess.

The only thing that makes me doubt myself on this one is Spain blanks usually had more veneers. So, still a guess.
