Does anyone remember Aratas?? Grand and Olive, I think.

I do. That was the premiere spot in the 1960s. There is a postcard floating around AZB that shows it in all its glory. I have written extensively about the place over the years as have others. Just search "Grand-Olive" or for my posts and you get a lot of info.

Looking for Stories & Pictures of Arata's Grand Olive Billiards
located in St. Louis, MO circa 1950's - 1970's (approx.) .
There was a Great Italian Deli/Cafe on the ground floor.

My dad would take me to a hall that had a concierge in the crapper!! Handed you these big fluffy clean towels and called me 'Master', as you would any young boy accompanied by his father. Loved that old guy!!
I think this may have been the place.
