Hi,

Ive an old Viking Queue to refinish. The Pin is a 3/8x10 but it doesnt fit in my arbor. Are Viking Pins different?

Silvio

Silvio,
I just did a Predator shaft for an older Viking last week, 3/8x10.
I didn't have any problem with the std. 3/8x10 tap. The fit was very good.
Could it be that your 'arbor' is a bit tight on the pin?
3/8x10 pins can vary in diameter by .010" or so.
You may try re-taping your drive-arbor to get a better fit.
Also, look closely at the threads of the pin. They could be damaged.

I never had a problem with a 3/8x10 and Chris Hightowers arbors.
I made a special arbor out of Derlin and now I can do all my work on the cue.
Thanks for your input.

But now I have different Question.
I also have a Tim Scruggs here for refinish. Its a verry nice and expensive cue but in real bad condition. This cue has the acme 3/8x10 flat face pin like Mike Gulassy uses with stainless steal Joint.
I never saw a Scruggs with that Pin. Are there more Cues like that?

Tim made quite a few cues with the 3/8X10 acme screw.
