SOLD!

Putting an older Bob Frey sneaky pete with 2 shafts which I got last week on a partial trade. Cue plays very good with that solid "ping" on both shafts. Very similar to a Scruggs SP I had. Trades? Looking for nice plain janes.

- 3/8 x 10 joint with no collars
- White delrin buttcap with the 'F' logo
- Shaft 1 is longer at 30 inches and measures 12.6mm below the ferrule
- Shaft 2 measures 29 inches and is 12.2mm below the ferrule
- Fibre ferrules on both shafts
- 19 oz with the 12.2mm shaft and around 19.5 oz with the 12.6mm shaft

Cue has a linen wrap but for some reason this is in 2 colours - black and white speckled AND red and black which you can see in the pics. Probably extended for a more consistent feel whether cueing a little forwards a little or backwards. You could get it re-wrapped for around $30 if you wish to have a wrap of a single color.

Shafts are great and clean with no dings/dents/scratches at all. Ferrules are in excellent condition and have no chips/nicks in them. The buttcap is a little yellowed and there is some glue residue just below the wrap but nothing that a simple re-finish won't take care of for those who want it minty.:D

Extended wrap?

Welcome to AZ, I think I saw this cue on Ebay a couple days ago!? Bob makes an excellent playing cue for sure!!!

I can't tell by these pics but, is the extended part of the wrap slightly above the other wrap?

IMO, the extended wrap just detracts from the lQQk of the cue

Best of luck with your $ale, Ken ;)

Thanks!

Hey Ken, thanks for the welcome! :)

The extended part of the wrap does not go above the original wrap - it is put there above and below the original wrap probably to extend the reach for those who like to cue further back and prefer the feel of a linen wrap. I have to attest to the hit - a solid 'ping' and you can feel the shot all the way through.

It doesn't look the best with the extended wrap, but a wrap change would do the trick and I would leave the choice to the new owner. Either that or leave it as it is for use in rougher places.;)

A nice hustler cue for the money. It's on the bay and putting it up here to see if there're any trade or cash offers too. So shoot me a pm if you are interested!

I just had one of these with no wrap that I sold a few days ago. Mine was a great playing cue. Mint condition also. You might want to mention if the cue rolls straight together and apart.

Thanks,
Josh Hillard

Hi Josh, thanks for the heads-up. The shafts are straight and no perceptible change in the amount of light showing when rolling across the table. Together the cue has a very slight roll which should be due to the wrap - the tip does not leave the table with either shaft.

I would not say that my cue is in mint condition because of the extended wrap and the worn bumper, but the shafts and ferrules are very clean and the points are sharp and line up well. As with any cue I hope to own, the cue hits very well with good feel and for me that's the most important aspect.:D Would make a nice cue for anyone looking to get an excellent player for a decent price.

Cue should sell within 2 days here. Probably later in the day today. Mine went in a few hours.

Hey!

Yes, the Frey hits really good and I want to get one of his 13mm shafts for my everyday player too.
