Today my sweetie and I picked up this cue at a garage sale for $5. He claimed that it was his father's and from the 60's, but were there nylon inserts used in the the 60s or 70s?

The cue is horribly warped in the shaft and slightly in the butt. It is exactly 19 1/2 oz and, interestingly enough, the wrap is laquered over. The owner said that they had a covered pool table outside, and I wonder if they laquered over the wrap because of this- why make a cue and then laquer over the grip?

No weight bolt. 4 points are uneven (2 are 8 1/16" from top of wrap, 1 is 7 3/4" and the other is 7 1/2"). Metal joint is 1 1/8 " long.

I know this must be a cheap cue, but I had to post because 1) there is another one at the same garage sale and 2) I am curious about the joint and the wrap lacquer.

Any insight or knowledge appreciated.
