Older Joss info request

Hey Guys,

I just picked this up in a trade and I was wondering if anyone knew what model it was and approximately when it was made. I'd like to have as much info as possible when I list it for sale.

Email Joss with the serial number and they'll tell you exactly what you have and even the dealer they sold it to. Usually they reply within 24 hours.

Did they even have serial number back then?

With one shaft I would say $300-$350 in this market
Could be a J-21 or a J-23 J-24

Tduncan is close on his year range--- Here is some more Specifics

This cue was made between 1988 and 1991, before this the collar had joss and the year like (joss 1984)

Then after 1992, Dan started the Joss Custom in Gold and Joss Professional in Gold on the Collar from 1991-1993

One person asked about the Serial Number,

--Joss Did not serial number cues until 1999-2000 and then they started putting the serial number with the a 'alphabetic' letter that signified the year (1999-2000 was 'a' and the number, then the next year ('b' and the number) and so on, this allows you to figure out the year of production by the 'prefix letter and then you can send this info to Joss and they can tell you specific info on the cue.

Looks like a J-24. They came with many different veneer colors. Cuesblues sounds right on but it could fetch at bit more with the 2 matching shafts. Could be as early as 86 also. You could also buy the Custom series as early as 86. I have one still in the plastic bag with the date. Nice cue.

I know you're searching for the model, but in the meantime, would you be able to supply the specs on cue? Weight of butt, shafts, diameter, taper rolls or not, etc... I'd be interested with that info. Thanks!!
