Got a great deal on a Olhausen Pro and I have to disassemble it myself and travel 3-4 hours to get it home. Anything special I need to look for prior to begining the disassembly or during the diassembly? Also, anyone got a name of a reputable table mech. in the Lafayette Louisiana area? I got a few names but when I question them about whether or not they use a machinist level when leveling the table, they either sound dumbfounded or have no idea what I'm talking about. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again!

Are you using a truck, van or trailer. Does it look like rain out there..Pm me i can give you some tips on how to load properly for long hauls.

Yes, I'll have to transport it about 4 hours drive away. I will probably have to rent a trailor (covered trailor). It's a 9' table so I'm not sure if the slate peices will fit flat in the back of the suv. So the the slate may well have to ride in the trailor also. Any particular brand of trailor should I look for? Any have a better ride than others? Thanks for the tips.

standard u-haul 6x12 (enclosed) trailer is what i have used a few times to go and get tables. i put a 1 piece 8' slate piece vertical against the wall, and wedged it in with the table itself and used the old rails as padding.

hope yours is a 3-piece

When you take the rail cap off, flip it upside down, make 2x4 crossmembers and screw them to the rail cap. Set the slates in the trailer off to the side, Set your frame in the trailer, tie it down, set the rail cap upright on the frame, screw the installed crossmembers to the frame

Thanks for the great tips! Hopefully i can get the use of a van. The slate should be three piece on a champion pro correct?
