Olney Shaft Refinish

Hey all,

Looking to do a quick spot refinish on an Olney shaft. Unfortunately I don't have the time right now to send it in. Looking to find out the finishing material used on these shafts to try and match it up with a local refinisher as best as possible.

Will have it sent in when i get more time, but don't want to mix finishes, or have it completely stripped down by anyone other than the original manufacturer.

Thanks for your help,
Dave

Why bother? Does it affect the way the cue plays? Why not just hang loose until you can ship it to Jeff? JMHO, ICBW.

Agree with Martin. Jeff would probably appreciate not having to deal w/ someone else's finish work when the time comes, too.

I guess I was worried about having an unfinished portion of the shaft exposed and possibly causing damage?

Might be way off on this, but wanted to make sure I wouldn't be hurting the cue by leavin a portion exposed without finish.

If it won't bother it at all to leave it in this manner than I would definately prefer to wait. Exposed portion is about 2-3 in. just above the joint.

Thanks again,
Dave
