On the way home from the beach...

A funny thing happened when I was driving home from Cocoa Beach on Friday when I saw out of the corner of my eye a Pawn shop. Something told me to stop. While walking around I noticed a cue case stuffed under some things on the back shelf. I asked if there was a cue in it and they said yup. When I opened the case it was a beautiful 5 point ebony Joss. The forearm is of course curly maple. The butt is ebony with alternating curly maple and cocobolo. There are 5 mother of pearl inlays set into the cocobolo. The cocobolo zig zags around the pearl inlays. The points are like the 2008

but the break in all the points go in the same direction. I have searched the internet for this cue and can't find it anywhere. I called Joss and they said they couldn't tell me anything by giving them the serial number. (Why they have the serial numbers I will never know).

There are a couple of minor dinks in the forearm so I haggled the guy down to 75 bucks for the cue. Not a bad deal.

That was good Johnny.

It showed class and ingenuity.

Who knows, maybe you really did find a cue in a pawn shop.

But it sure will attract people to your website.

At first I thought you were just rubbing the noses of all those people up in the north in the cold and all that snow when you name dropped Coco Beach. How was the surf? LOL

uhhh, ok so whatever drugs you are doing please put them away... Or at least share...

First off that is not my web site. I used it as an example to show you what a Joss 2008 points looked like. (Easier to explain in a picture than in words.) My real web site is... http://pooltable.kirchelconsulting.com go there you may learn something. :)

Secondly I live in Rockledge FL which if you look at a map is around 15 minutes from Cocoa Beach. I moved there from California around a year ago. HustleFinger, Becky V and even Smorgassbored can attest to this. Not that it does anything but support my credibility I have been around Usenet and Forums for a while. You can look up my former identity on google as SSCS. (look in RSB and ASP).

Third I actually did find a sweet deal @ a pawn shop and as soon as I find the friggin cable for my digital camera (which I took pictures yesterday to send to Joss) I will post them for you.

BTW the surf was non existent because it was a low tide when I got there on Friday. But the 3 mile walk I took on the beach was very nice thank you for asking Jake.

Oh one quick thing I forgot to mention... It has a phenolic threaded insert in the shaft instead of the metal one. This is the first shaft I have seen with the phenolic insert from Joss. Is this common?

I have a Joss 2057 from about 2 yrs ago that has the phenolic threading on the shaft. I am not sure if both types are currently available or if they switched from one to the other at some point, but the place I got the cue at had both types of shafts.
