What if there was one universal pool game that could rate personal skill playing levels of any given player.
Players would play this personal game to compete against a known rack score... If you miss you're done.
There would be no actual competitor, no ghosts to beat, and no way to cheat if you follow the game rules.
The game I'm suggesting works like this... http://sites.google.com/site/poolandbilliard/Home/1-2-3
Instructors can watch students to evaluate ball choices and how they deal with problem balls and clusters.
This game should be played in 5 racks, for your own 30 point rating. You could play one rack for practice.
My rating system goes like this.....
30-27....... Straight pool player.
26-21....... 9 ball player.
20-15....... 8 ball player.
14 or less. Try again.
These ratings can also be used for A, B, C and D players. Try the game, just to play for your own opinion.
I'm not an instructor... but I've seen braggarts try this game that often fail to make 14 points.
