One layer tips

just needing a bit of information on some tips. i started out shooting with lepros and went to triangles and elkmasters. i ended up buying a couple boxes of triangles and elkmasters for installs on others shafts. since then i have used the original Morri Medium, tiger soft, and a Morri Medium III. overall i have gotten used to the firmness of the MMIII. but due to the lack of a real lathe and being able to put pressure down on the tip when cutting, i have no interest screwing up a layerd tip on my home made jig. what single layer tips compare to the firmness of the third generation Morri Medium? i put a pressed triangle on last week and wow, its way to soft for me. any good med/hard single tips out there at a good price per box?
thanks,
Jay

Try pressing a LePro. They press out to be very nice medium/hard to hard tips that hold their shape well & last a long time. Alaso cheaper than Triangles. Another suggestion would be Sumo water buffalo tips. They are more expensive but still cheaper than layered tips. I liked them because they were hard, and used them exclusively on my cues for years but the last year I noticed a signifigant drop in quality, so I no longer use them. The problem I found was the hardness became inconsistent, with some being hard & some being medium.

I have never liked hard tips and recently bought a new custom cue from AZer Bill the Cat who makes Bill Shupert Cues, the shaft had a red layered water buffalo tip that hits great and I have no miscue trouble at all. I have been told that it is a Superpro layered tip, and I think they play great and no mushrooming. They are not expensive either.--Leonard

I have Conquest two layered tips. the medium is a bit softer than the Moori. But plenty firm.
