Went to do this table it was under size slate. rails didn't bolt through slate, it had been both glued and stapled over the years, no backer board, had to lift slate like bar box in order to glue, and unless you can lift slate by fingertips you had to jack it up to get hands underneath. Just wondering what the top guys would do?

get underneath the table, lay on something like a drill box, and bench press the slate while your buddy puts something between the slate and frame.

Exactly what I did, but used my back. Would have been easier to staple but figured gluing was right way. Thanks.

Ouch:: a drill box to the back sounds like it hurt and left a mark..lay on ur back flat n use ur legs/feet/hips to raise/press the slate up. Use ur hands and fingers to slip a small board thru the same area u but your feet.remove the small board the same way u put it in.......and tell ur helper to go back to sleep......... When ur gone dance a jig and sing"I feel good"

Works great for a home owner or a mechanic with a helper..a lot of time in the field of work with pool tables there is a few things that is a little easier to do with two people..not all mechanics have a helper or two people working on a table so we devise our own systems of working alone....I'm not knocking anyones ideas or work strategies just sharing my ideas and want mechanics to start thinking about what they are doing..there is way more to pool tables than most think..thanks guys
