One piece slate tables

With the exception of Diamond are there any other table manufactures out there that still make tables with one piece slate?

Diamond uses a one piece slate? I did not know that.I would think that one piece would be far too heavy and awkward to get into a lot of houses etc... Why would you prefer a one piece slate? (out of curiosity)

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine and the subject came up. I said Diamond was the only one, he said I was wrong but he couldn't name another manufacture that did.
 
yeah diamond does and it's 9ft too! they said mostly for commercial use. i would imagine most homes could not and would not be able to get it inside.

Actually many homes have the one piece 9ft, mine included.

You are limited somewhat by stairs with turns and tight corners. The table tilts on its side on a special cart and can be rolled by one person!! It does weigh close to 1500lbs!

I'm sure Glen "RealKingCobra" Hancock will jump on here sometime and give more details. He has delivered many to homes and apartments.

Valley bar tables are one piece.

Some of them tend to dip in the middle, though.

most bar tables are 1 piece slate. i have come across 3 that were 3 piece. i believe sears sold one in the 80's that was 1 piece, seems i worked on one years ago. but , anyways, yes, there are other 1 piece slate tables out there. the bar box company in valley-dynamo, owned by brunswick now.

the problem with one piece slates is there usually undersized and thin. undersized slate means the rails will need to bolt through something else besides the slate which is usually wood which isn't the best way to secure rails and if the slate is thin they will have the tendy to warp or lose there flatness. the only company that I know of that makes a one piece slate that is oversized and 1" thick is Diamond. otherwise a one piece is undesireable.

Not to misunderstood, one piece slate bar tables are undersized slates, meaning only the playing surface is a one piece slate. These kind of slates are either 3/4" or 7/8" thick, and are 7" short on width and length of a normal over-sized slate for the same size table that would normally come with a 3 piece slate. Diamond is the only mfg that has ever had an over-sized 1" one piece slate ever made, 7ft, 8ft, and 9ft. A 9ft 3piece slate is 57"x107"x1" Diamonds 9ft one piece slate is the same dimensions but not cut into 3 pieces, and weighs 618lbs. One piece full size slates also mean there are no seams to match up when setting up. or recovering.
