hi folks, so previously I asked what happens when a ball is declared froze then a player makes a shot at a different ball at the other end of tabe then rolls up to the frozen ball on the next shot and tells me i didnt declare it froze. got some interesting feedback thanks

well i didnt learn my lesson playing same guy race to 4 for 4.

im shooting over 2 balls that are married together next to the rail 2 diamonds away from his pocket on his side of the table. the way the balls are married neither of them go, i had checked this when i was about to bridge over them

while bridging i could feel my finger slighlty nudge his ball, nobody saw him not even him but I called it on myself and asked him if he would liek to leave it or move it back
he says well let me look at it. He comes over looks at it then moves the balls so that now they both go into his pocket.

i call bullshit and it starts.

what you do in this situation ? or did he basically pull a move and since i technically fouled im screwed?

for whoever cares i lost that game but won the set :)

I would unscrew, tell him to go you know what, and never play him again. Find someone to play that won't try to pull a move on you every chance they get.

Your fault

Don't move a ball, heh. He gets to put it back where he thought it was. If you moved 2 balls, they would stay where they are, you owe one, and you lose your shot.

You did the right thing by speaking up and saying you touched a ball imo, even though it opened the door for him to try and pull a move on you. If you are playing this individual for the sole purpose of putting his money in your pocket and you know you have the best of it, let him make his moves and think he getting away with it. His underestimating you will only cost him. On the other hand if you are playing for the love of the game and action, why bother, find someone else to play who feels the same way and will call their own mistakes.

The rules as i read them , from onepocket.org , (and from what i understand Grady had a hand in adopting these definitions of "official " one pocket rules of play).

6;FOULS
6.1 unless otherwise stated by tournament director or agreed upon before the start of play,
"Cue ball fouls only"
In the event that a player accidentlly moves a ball(s), the opponent may elect to have the disturbed ball(s) remain in the new position OR be restored to their original positions.
When the balls are restored , they shall be placed as close as possible to to their original positions, with no advantage to be gained by the offending player.
if no official or trusted 3rd party is available to restore disturbed balls, then the players must come to an agreement on satisfactory replacement of the disturbed ball(s) prior to continuing play.

Most 1 hole players have the wrong idea about putting balls back where they were when moved.
With no ref, the players have to agree where the ball was.
If they dont agree, the ball goes on the foot spot.
You cant put the ball wherever you want.

regardless of the answers you get
if you have to start 2 threads on this guys shenanigans he is not worth the aggravation unless you have the nuts and he will bet high
jmho

I was playing a well known player one time and was running some balls, got a little jacked up and nudged the impeding ball. Mentioned it to my opponent and he jumped up out of his chair, said 'I'll put it back'.

When he was done, I was a lot jacked up:eek:.
