One Pocket WWYD

Two-rail (head, right long) or three-rail (head, right long, foot) towards the 4-ball. Doesn't matter if you take a scratch shooting it. I don't like freezing the cueball to the stack at all, even though it's easy to execute, because the opponent can push you back to your original position but closer to the rail.

Nice try off the ten & bhind the four. Yrs back, a bro shared the complexity of moving balls.
Truly it's a nice break, banking the one ball is gambling. The carom off the 10 then behind the 15, SLOW rolling cb into position under the 4ball in corner seems do able! Love input but not chump shots. Gambling,,,, has not much to do with one hole. ... Ps, love this thread..... Let's play!

Bs. ! Too much movement. Gambling! You wanna gamble or play! Haha yeah man!
Not trying to get insulting, but 'come on down' ! 'price is right' ha.... Not laughing at you, just the a apology! Keep up the good work... B

10 - 4! Pt109,... Damn straight you can move the ba/ cb 16 'around the world. That is gambling. Not smart play. Like the thread & your observation in this particular set-up! Azb members, plz keep this one hole forum ALIVE.! pictures are probably a drag, - - per situation, but azb, absolutely love the opportunity to evolve myself into this thread.... ! Get after it, all of you players, x-players, teachers. We have a great vehicle laid in our hands!!! Thank you AZBILLIRDS! AGAIN

Pt109, you said a bunch more with letting him move the ball. How many times can he hit the ball w /o double kissing??! E 'N'UFF SAID! YOU THE TEACHER!! POINT TAKIN!

Contrary to popular belief, one pocket is not a game for brain surgeons, rocket scientists or those afraid of their own shadow.

Solution: Shoot into the seven with follow. Your goal is to drive the cue ball to the side rail (adjacent to the four ball).

In this game, it's a sure sell-out to not play offensively when the score is zero - zero.

At the start of the game, your only priority is setting up YOUR shots. Forget your opponent and how his balls are placed.

Think about it (but not for too long).

Shoot safe.

If you shoot the 11-3 to freeze the cue ball on top or at least near the 6 on this side. What run out shot does your opponent have? Keep in mind if hit perfect the 3 will contact the 2 and drive it into the rail and back out to on the 14. The 3 should then go to the bottom rail and create another cluster.
Bob,
Shooting off the 11ball is the safest option, however, you then settle for just playing safe with out trying to position a ball on your side. Positioning a ball on your side is the strength of the shot that needs to be exercised, if not then your option is considerably weaker. If you notice how the balls are configured you will see that the 2ball doesn't do any thing to improve your position after the balls are moved, if any thing it may come back into the stack and dislodge the cue ball from it's secure position. Once the 11 and 3ball are moved then the table for your opponent is opened even more for him and he will be left in a position with options for playing a good cue ball to further your problems.

I also don't believe that the angle for the "three rail kick" is available, too short coming off the third rail..imo.

I would be surprised if the shooter could even see the 4ball to move it, if so then moving the 4ball is the best shot and no, there is no kiss.

I believe shooting into the 7ball with enough speed to move a ball to your side of the table and freezing the cue ball on top of the 6ball is your best option. The 9ball will then act as a blocker for the moved ball and you will be pretty much out of the trap. Sounds easy? Yes but it's not, however, imo that's your best choice from this very threatening position.
