It is called the Main Event. It is the Wednesday Night Double Elimination 9 Ball Tournament at Orange Ball Billiards in Rockville MD. The strongest players in the area show up regularly. Pros like Mike Davis and Sue Yen Rhee are regulars. If you see Keither with the Either, tell him we miss him. The Field averages 24 to 30 players. The house takes no money out. There are 8 Impeccable Gold Crown 4 tables with new electric blue Simonis cloth available from 6:30 PM to 1AM for practice and play.
Entry is $20 with Ladies and players under 16 play for FREE........................
Practice starts at 6:30 PM and play begins at 8 PM with races to 5 on the winners side and races to 3 on the losers side..................
There is also Great Food, Drink, quiet music and attractive and comfortable Atmosphere in the background.
This is a Great weekly Tournament for Competition or just to Observe as a spectator.

Well, hello, Mike! :) Great to see you posting on AzBilliards Discussion Forum. Long time no see! :p

I initiated these threads in 2004 and 2005 about D.C. metro area tournaments and, of course, included Orange Ball in them.

FWIW, I think the Orange Ball tournament on Wednesday nights enjoys the largest turnout. It is well run, the food is great, and there is a full bar for those who like to partake!

Even though there's so-called pros in attendance at Orange ball, our local players in the D.C. area are pretty doggone strong. I've seen both Keith and M.D. get knocked out the very first round on more than one occasion. :o

Hope to run into you soon! :)

Thanks for the kind words about the tournament..............You were right in 2004 about the threads and as you can see we will be using it along with PP. We have had a lot of different winners on Wednesday lately. It is wide open.
Don't be a stranger................
