Tough to beat a Porper for the money IMO. Have had zero problems with mine over the past 3 years. Light, handy pockets, looks good for heavy vinyl, don't care for the foam lid much but it stabalizes the butts and shafts well.
Wouldn't worry about the joint down thing unless your brutal in the way you throw it around.
Have little experience with the Instrokes myself (sounds like the new latches has not fixed the ongoing problem), a bit more money than the equivalent Porper. Much prefer leather but you can expect to pay 2 to 4 times more compared to a heavy vinyl case.
