opinions needed

I have always liked that McDermott lizard cue ever since I first saw it. I like both of the lizard cues you have pictured. My next choice is the Viking F04 followed a long way back by the Viking V2U. I don't care for the others.

how about the retail value of 2dhand vikings?

i think ill take the F07, its by FAR "in my eyes" the nicest cue ive ever seen. (and yes, after many pm's of cutom cue makers etc (thx for all the info i rescieved)) its still unbeatable. i could buy it, test it, and resell it if needed.
(i thought of buying one 2dhand, but havent seen one being sold on ebay or other places...) new it costs 600, how much u think i could sell it for after i tested it for a week or 2 and see i didnt like it?

a good idea? or just waiste of money? i'd say 500$ for a 99.9% condition cue would look fair right?

ps i really dont understand how many like some cues. ive checked all these 2000+$ cue's everyone masivly bids on, and i wouldnt play with it , even if they payed me :( im a really this weird? or do i just have HORIBLE taste :D

bruintje, sorry for the closups :) wanted to help people out, not having to search for every model in google.

Donovan: ive never seen any of these cues in my country :D being a Lisard FREAK, i love them too, but like they told. i can always do that paintjob myself, or put a lisard on my case. im just a collector of lissards, and it would be more for my lisardcollection, then for the cue quality. how can u NOT like salamanders ?! :p cutests animals on this planet

Solly,

I've been giving this some thought. Since you say you've been playing with a house cue you may NOT like the cues with wraps. If this is so then go with the least expensive Viking since it will play just as good as the more expensive Vikings, unless you want to spend more for the F07 for the looks.
BUT if you have tried a wrap cue and feel comfortable using one then go for the McDermott M5-4A since it will play the same as the M5-4B unless you want to spend extra money for the dark stain. By the way, the Vikings and the McDermotts should play similar to each other if they are all wood to wood joints. I would recommend you go with a wood to wood joint and a 3/8"-10 pin since this should come closest to the feel of a house cue. I would also hold off on buying an expensive shaft until you've given the factory shafts a try.

One thing I dont understand is why someone would purchase a predator cue . I understand wanting the shaft but you can get a similar but in the falcon for a whole lot less price. Since falcon makes the predator cue you are buying the same workmanship. Why not just buy the falcon cue with a predator shaft.

Tbeaux, exactly what i was thinking of. i dont like wraps. and i dont think id like it. ive never had a cue slide out of my hand when breaking or so, so i dont think i need a wrap to have a descent grip. Hence why i like the viking looks. and i would spend more just for the F07 looks compared to the cheaper F viking models.

i saw u can always chose from 6 joints in the viking range. And on ebay i found a faq about the joints, and i saw wich one made stiff and wich one made soft hits, and the wood-wood joints where soft. but im not yet sure how they look.. the x-xx (still no idea what these numbers are, prolly radius of the pins and # of groves etc). but ill take a joint with soft hit like u said.

about the shaft, cant afford a cue + predator shaft anyway :) so not a problem. ill see how the viking shaft hits, and if they hit like i like, ill just buy a 2d pair.

nice to see u had the exact same idea's after thinking more about it. Guess im starting to understand something about poolcue's. hard when ur new.

thx for all the reply's and help guys. i really apreciate it
