opinions on converting joint

I have a 5/16x14 SS jointed cue,,.,my question/concern is,.,.,.,.i would like to have this SS joint replaced/turned down and sleeved with ivory over the SS,.,i have the ivory to do so,.,but im not sure if its a good idea to do this?,.,i know it will affect the weight/balance a little,.,but im wondering if it is worth it mainly for appearance reasons but yet keep the SS feel in the hit to an extent,.,i don't mind paying to have it done,.,but I would like some input on the idea,.,and also a recommendation for which cue maker to use (since this one is retired) that does well with this joint work if this doesn't seem like a bad idea,.,thanks

I bought a 2007 Shurtz cue that had a damaged cue butt and without any original shafts. The cue had a stainless steel piloted cue joint.
I'm strictly an ivory joint cue player as you can see from my signature and have strong opinions about cue joints as well.

I had Bob Owen repair the cue butt, make two new shafts and I had him install a 3/8x11 flat ivory cue joint that turned out spectacular &
hits so sweet. I won't speculate how well a sleeved ivory joint would play if you had it done. However, I will go on record that Bob Owen
@ Shurtz Cues could switch the joint to a flat ivory and you'd be pleased with the results unless you're dead set on just an ivory sleeve.

p.s. I imagine that Bob can actually install any type of cue joint you want.
