I started building my light fixture this weekend. I still need to put more molding on and then stain it. I'm just building it as I go along. The inside walls will be painted white. I would like to know if I should put a diffuser on it?

I would also like anyones opinions on it.

Thanks for looking.

Looks nice!

You might want to put something to difuse the light on there. The grid-type things you see on Diamond overhead lights comes to mind. They're pretty ugly though.

Making it deeper if it's not too low already would work great too.

We've got pot lights on a track above our table at home. The lighting is okay but every once in a while they'll blind you on your way to shoot.

Looks good, I would use the 'eggcrate' type like Diamond. They seem to direct the light straight down on the table, thus keeping it out of your eyes.

You did good man! That's a great light! You might consider dropping it down a little, but you be the judge after you see how well the table is lit. It may be just fine where it is.

If you stain it to match the beam ceiling, it should blend in nicely.

P.S. There's a guy named Varner hanging around your neck of the woods looking for some cheap One Pocket action. You got the nuts man. :)

Thanks for the compliments. I will probably go with the "eggcrate" diffuser that McMaster Carr has. The Sides are 12 inches deep already so I doubt I go any lower. I plan to stain it to match the table.

As to Jays P.S. I already to a good butt kickin' 3 mondays ago in some 1 pocket with Nick. Just when I thought that 1 poket my be my stronger game I had to give him a try. It's amazing how fast you can be humbled.

I have the light pretty much finished now. I still need to finish painting the inside and eventually put a diffuser in it but I think its coming along pretty good.
