can someone give me some info about old wraps used on 60's-70's cues?? i have read of #9 linen and a '256' linen, as well as penn and cortland linens. i talked with "paul" at cortland line and he said he could dissect the line makeup of a particular line if he had a sample. i can't get a sample because my cues are wrapped at present. he also said he had no sources for linen raw material. anyone interested in a private order for this line if it could be done? maybe other current linen manufacturers could match?? on stuart hulbert's website they listed a "256" linen. is this the maker of the original wraps on some of the old cues? i have an old doc fry cue that has a light colored wrap-no specks and an old joss(partnershipjanes/stroud) that has what has been called penn / cortland wrap. i would like to get something to approximate/match the original wraps if i could. does anyone have clear pix of these wraps in original condition? by the way i have taken DAWN dishwashing liquid and water and a magic eraser to both and the effort did make a great improvement in the wraps' appearances. thanks to all.
