Original Predator Cue question

Steve Titus and Allen McCarty founded Predator cues....middle 90s
I had a few of the originals....6 and 12 piece shafts.
Their company was known as Clawson Cues back then.

Did Joss ever make cues for them?

Pretty sure they did....a few companies were shopped..but it gets confusing....
...Joss had a close relationship with Falcon back then.
Dufferin Cues were approached also.
I believe Samsara made some.....

Thanks. Good to know. I agree, it’s hard to keep up with all the makers that have made Predator over the years.

i purchased 3 Predator Cues new from Predator in 1996. The models were 96-3; 96-4; and 96-6. i did not see any ikon model designations in the catalog. There were 6 models if recall. When I purchased them, my understanding was that the cue butts were from Falcon. (I could have misunderstood)
I know that the model 3 made in the following year, when compared to my 96-3, had a poorer quality in color and material appearance. Maybe the following year was made by other than falcon.

As mentioned in this thread already, Predator started in Clawson, Michigan in 1994 and moved to Florida in 1995 (I joined them in 1996 and worked there for almost 8 years). McDermott and Joss and Falcon made the first butts while Predator made the shafts and eventually they switched the butt production to Falcon in Canada exclusively. Many years later Predator start using several different cuemakers to make limited editions for them like Jacoby, Mezz, Samsara, Pechauer. The first cues that Predator made themselves from start to finish were the P2's (beginning in 1999 iirc). They eventually outsourced their production to Asia, while still to this day having many of the previously named companies make them limited and special edition cues.

I think my memory of the timeline is pretty close but I could be off a year or two here and there.

Hope this helps.
