I'm bummed! Why all this good weather in Northern California now? If it were raining, I would have the week off. The bar table tournament is tomorrow, and I have to work all week. Wish I didn't need the money so bad, or I would like to play in the tournament that is only 1.75 hrs from my house. Stupid job &bills!!!!

I'm just wondering if all the world beaters who played in the IPT qualifier are going to come up and play.

Some local players are thinking this is their best chance at some loot with all the added money and the fact it's kind of in the boonies.

If they draw Wu, Orcullo, Ortmann, etc... they might get a nasty reality check.

Your not going to play for a team on the weekend, Josh?

Right before we departed for Turning Stone last Wednesday, I received a phone call from the promoter about this event. He was checking to see if Keith McCready was going to be able to attend, and we had a long chat. This is going to be a very fine tournament, and I hope to read about the results from those in attendance.

BTW, I heard it through the grapevine at the Turning Stone that Johnny Archer and Kim Davenport were planning on going.

Unfortunately, as it is a stark reality for some pros, finances make it difficult for players to get the opportunity to play at great events like this one. We cannot afford to go at this time, though Keith would love to return to California, his old stomping grounds, and take a shot at winning a bar table event, his specialty.

I heard this past weekend that Thorsten Hohmann traveled by plane 80-plus times this past year going to pool tournaments. It is quite expensive to be a player and get the opportunity to compete, but for those who are able to do so, it makes our pool world that much brighter. Good luck to all, may the best man/woman win, and I'll be hoping to read all about it in the very near future.

No Bud, I'm not going to be playing in the team event, unless bad judgement takes hold. I had a team that I was playing on, but one of them is a shyster, and I can't be around dishonest people. I have a lot of work this week, and I can't shoot it down for a chance to make invisible money. I'm sure I'll be able to make it for the weekend, and maybe play a few matches with my measly bankroll.. lol. You're going for sure right?

JAM, you should have whipped your horse a little harder at the turning stone event! First place would have gotten you out here for sure! It's a bummer that you can't make it- I think Keith's got a better chance to make money here with action games, and playing in a team event than in up in NY. Especially since the fire is back at the moment. Not to rub it in, but that is the worst feeling when you do great in a tournament, and you get home- You're still making everything, your confidence is at an all time high- and there's no where, or no one to play. :(
