I just stumbled upon this. I think it was about 4 months ago.

What a great interview with Oscar as usual. Oscar is such a great representative of professional pool.

He spoke candidly at the end about the whole JA debacle.

Oscar mentioned that the worst part of this situation was watching the demise of one of his hero's.

Which I would think that most pool fans share the same sentiment.

The amazing part of this situation is the debt is only 6500.00

I'm just blown away that someone in JA's world with wealth didn't step up and square up with Oscar.

I'm not suggesting they had any obligation, but to watch a legend, that they called a close friend be publicly vilified over 6500.00 is very sad.

BTW- I'm not downplaying or absolving JA actions. He clearly was responsible for this mess.

Its just sad to see a legend/player of the decade be reduced to this mockery.

Someone said that JA lost most of what he had in his poolroom, he also went through a divorce. Not making excuses but shit does tend to happen. I assume JA is playing tourneys more regularly because he needs the $ but a guy like him could surely book up as many exhibitions/appearances/lessons as he wants and make a lot more $ without the hassle and a more predictable/efficient schedule. He does seem to be sober and was wearing a blazer when he did commentary for UP which both are a good place to start.

Oh shit, I didnt know that all I had to do was wear a blazer to become respectable when I screwed somebody out of $6,500

Johnny must not have many people who trust him or one of his friends would have "loaned" him the money to pay Oscar before it ever got to this point.
