I was not planning to attend this year, but I recently heard from a friend that this was not held this year. Coby and Gordie put on a great time. Anyone know what happened to this and their other events?

8Ball is dead. Nobody plays it anymore. Just kidding. I really got nothin, except that the State 9Ball was won by Brett Stottlemeyer, IIRC, to the tune of $4k+.

I know that Coby does not have a pool room any longer. His Diamond Billiards pool room has closed some time ago. I sure wish he would buy another building and open another room in the Lancaster area.

when and where was the PA. 9 ball

thanks

The PA State 9-Ball Championship was held at the poolroom in Indiana, PA in the beginning of last June.

We're talking about 2 different PA championships.

The PA. 9-Ball championship has been held in Indiana PA, and is played on 9 foot tables. The PA. 8-ball barbox event, was Coby's event held in Lancaster, and Mechanicsberg.

The reason that Coby shut the pool hall down to begin with, was BECAUSE he didn't own the building.
The landlord saw that Coby was doing well, and decided to jack up the rent.
If he had owned the building, he's still be there today.

I know that's why I stated I wish he would "buy" another building in which to open a pool room rather than just lease a space. Although the start-up cost associated with buying a building is higher, in the long run you have control.
