How long does it take to run balls for you??
My last best run was 84 and it took me 33 minutes for an average of 2.545 bpm.
I would love to get some numbers to compare. I am thinking if I slowed it down a bit I might have better success.

84 sounds pretty successful to me.

When I am on, I shoot at a pretty brisk pace myself. I only slow down when I get unsure.

It takes me roughly 10-15 minutes to do a 50 ball run. My 115 was around 38-40 minutes I can't remember exactly though. I've had a 105 that in practice (which doesn't count for a myriad of reasons) that took just over 30 minutes.

I take the first two racks slowly and then speed up as I get comfortable. It's more of a natural thing than a conscious decision. As a rule I don't shoot unless I know what I'm doing, as I run more balls I make decisions quicker, often due to increased confidence and zonage. But sometimes I can't get through the first two racks, so I just play slow lol.

I will try this in the future.

Here are some of mine:

80 26 min
82 28 min
87 34 min
88 36 min
99 39 min

I usually get a little slower when the run gets over about 70.

Schmidty takes an average of 22 minutes to run 100. I went throught the video of his runs and he averages about 13 to 15 seconds per ball and that includes racking.

He ran 243 in 61 minutes which is 15 seconds per ball. He plays at the same pace no matter how high the run is. Something I need to work on.

I've been told my pace of play is pretty slow, and I think it's one of my faults. I probably over-think and over-analyze (with a background in computer programming, I have a VERY analytical thought process). I need to just shoot balls instead of thinking about shooting balls. I drive myself crazy trying to be too perfect - and end up beating myself up when I'm not (which is QUITE often!).

I've never timed one of my runs, but it may require a calendar.

Thx Bill
This is really what I was hoping to see.
I forced myself to take my time on the 84 as I am prone to making a mistake if I get to fast. John really gets it done a lot quicker on some of these runs, maybe because he is just a bit better than {insert anyone else's name here}
My runs usually start out fast but slow down as I get up there. I think a good change for me will be to maintaine the same pace as John does throughout the run, Maybe slowing things down as the number climbs puts additional pressure on me, not good.
Heading over to 3 and stops house now to apply new knowledge to the game.

i love schmidt's rythem. the game never gets tedious when he's at the table. i see a lot of top players take forever to play their next shot and then blow it. the rythem helps keep you in the zone and keeps your brain from fatiging. there are shots that require more time but after you know what you must do, it's time to get down on the table and stoke the damned ball. lol.......

Note to self:

1: Do not try to play at anyone else's pace but your own
2: Do not even think about how fast or slow you might be
