Palmer Model F?

Can someone help me identify this cue of mine. It's my dad's old cue and I believe it's a Palmer and based off this from Proficient Billiards Although anything I can find elsewhere online doesn't list a model f or the model f doesn't look like my cue.

Also would someone please recommend somewhere I could take it to be restored. I would like some multiple options. Would it be worth more restored or as is? I can provide more pictures if needed.

Thanks for the help and I look forward to all sorts of info from this site seeing as this is my very first post?

yes it is a model f and according to tate's website the www.palmercollector.com the value can range from $800 (average condition) to $1000 (restored). now those values were a while ago and may not be valid now.

you may decide it's better to sell now as is rather than put money into restoring it. hope this helps.

well

As posted above it isnt worth a huge amount, and I recommend Scot at Proficient Billiards for a refinish. I think the amount of value a little less but in the same ball park.

Unless you are in dire straights I would suggest you not sell it for a couple reasons.

First the market is down, really down. Maybe 2-3 years ago market in the lower end cues was stronger. This cue has some collector value and frankly I think it has pretty good potential.

Secondly, as a pool player, if there is something that I can relate to is my cue. If this was your pops cue for years, it should have a considerable sentimental value.

In summary, "it aint eating anything", has some upside potential value, and having something that a pool player (your dad) loved, I would recommend holding on to it.

Best of luck in all things, your friend in pool,

Ken

Thanks for the info Ken & Guy.

I'm definately not looking to sell it I'm just looking to get an aprox value just for my own curiosity. I'm willing to pay the money to have it restored seeing as it was a cue I grew up playing with.

I recently purchased a Pechauer to play with and will be putting the Palmer back in storage. Any other places anyone could recomend for refinishing or restoration?
