I found these two "supposed" Palmer prototypes on eBay...........

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21212&item=7172145381&rd=1

I particularly like this one.....

Though I normally run for the hills when I hear the word "Prototype", (usually means cheap asian import), these look like they may actually be worth 100 bucks.

I'm tempted to bid, but no one else is, which gets my red flag a waving. The seller first listed them as "Genuine Palmer prototypes", then re-listed them as "Potential Palmer prototypes".

Should I trust my gut instinct?. and/or are there any Palmer aficionados on this forum who may shed a bit of light on this subject?. Thanx

I responded in the "Wanted/for Sale" section.

Palmer, Omega and probably others have nothing to do with the cue makers that made the name famous. Are they worth a 100 dollars? I don't know probably better than the 10 dollar Pam Anderson cues. I'll stick with the makers I know.

Almost all Palmer and Omega cues on ebay are simply import cues that have approriated the name. They are generally worth $50 - $150 bucks retail depending on the cue. Don't be swayed by "prototype", "sample" or any other BS like that. These are nothing more than the same designs that are offered to dozens of smaller distributers and sold under various brand names. Neither of these two have anything to do with the cues that made the names famous.

When you see a collectible cue on Ebay it will either be correctly identified as such and/or it will have the bids to go with it.

I doubt the second one is actually inlaid. The $99 price is about right though. Not a bargain if not inlaid but about what you shoudl expect to pay retail if not.
