Panther shafts

I bought one as a spare for a Mcdermott. Figured I'd use it as my bar shaft. Hit was kinda soft, but acceptable. Stored on a rack with all my other cues and shafts, traveled in an Instroke case when used, never left in the car for more than a couple hours. It warped something fierce inside of a year. Don't waste your money IMO.

Hello,

I have never even heard of this shaft. Who makes them? Sounds like a cheap Predator knock off.
 
Don't really know who makes them. Probably just a generic replacement shaft made in the far east and sold by online retailers as an inexpensive replacement shaft. Based on my experience, I'd rather buy a good used shaft from someone reputable if I'm looking to save a buck next time.

Same thing here,I bought one for a back up while I had joint/collar work done.After working the layered tip a little bit,it hit nice.I have only had it three week's and no warpage yet,I'm sure it will though. It didn't have that thick sealer layer on it,which was nice. Before you buy on Ebay like I did,check this site out. I think Ebay sell's the lower grade shaft's and factory 2nd's(wopple's and blemishes). For what it's worth.

Nothing at all to do with Predator. One piece shaft's only,I guess a cheaper back up shaft. Not bad for the money if your broke like me.

I've had a Panther 13mm shaft (from eBay, probably the same seller you're looking at?) for two years now, and I'm pleased with it. No warpage, no cracking of the ferule, or any of the other anomalies one would experience with a "cheapie" or knock-off. I specifically picked out the 13mm version, for use on barboxes that utilize overweight cue-balls (larger diameter shaft = wider tip = more tip surface area to "grab" that rock of a cue-ball). The tip that was originally on it compressed too quickly, so I ended up replacing the tip with an Elkmaster, and I've been a happy camper ever since. It's a decent shaft, IMHO. Or, I've just been lucky. Either way, for the price, you can't go wrong, especially if it's not your main "bread & butter" shaft (as is the case with me -- I *only* use this shaft when I encounter barboxes that utilize overweight cue-balls).
