First off, if its infinity then how could they meet at the "end", there IS no end....

And if they are parallel then obviousy they never meet...

Is there a trick somewhere in the question I'm not seeing? I just cant see this question being asked to any higher level students without them laughing at it....

It's a "standard" geometrical conundrum. Parallel lines can only meet at infinity. The theoretical model (some Polish mathematician?) is on the same level as time travel, big bang, and losing one sock of each pair in the dryer.

I almost agree except that while time travel, big bang, and parallel lines meeting at infinity are thoeretical models (so far), the phenomenon of losing one of each pair of socks has been proven by me personally many times.
