for those of you who did not catch the announcement, Paul Blank announced at the Texas Open that it would be his last tournament.

Paul has been doing tournaments for around ten years including all the fast eddies with Lewis Jones for the last 8 years, 5 tx opens, a corpus city classic and i am sure many more. I have been priviledged to know Paul for about four years and at a small percentage of the tournaments he has been at. but i can say it has been a great four years, great tournaments, and never a dull moment!!!

Paul, i think i speak for everyone when i say you will be missed. it has been a pleasure knowing you. you have brought a lot to the game of pool. and you have done it with honesty, integrity and style.... and we thank you for it! i wish you happiness and the best of luck, and may God bless you and yours............

Paul, I didn't catch the announcement, thanks for carrying Lewis all this time. You'll be sorely missed.

Pauly

Paul will definitely be missed at the boards! Not only was he one of the best tournament directors around, he had more stories than anyone I have ever met.

The Bad News - Now Paul will be playing in the tournaments which means we better all step it up a notch.........this guy can play too!!

Thanks for all the great tournaments Paul!!

Im so sorry to hear that Paul. You know you were one fo the first to comment on my heart, desire, and appearent skill in the game.

Thanx
Alex, San Antonio TX (6 pocket rep)

Thanx again Paul for the kind words, A true sportsman and a gentleman.

Anyone who has played in a tournament that was run poorly can appreciate Paul and Lewis. Always a class act. Best of luck Paul.

Thanks, everyone!

The Fast Eddie's Olhausen 9 Ball Tour will continue on and will be bigger and better than ever under Lewis Jones's guidance. Lewis will be teaming up with a new crew of very experienced tournament promoters and directors which will be annouced very soon in a press release.

The decision to leave the Tour did not come easy but over the last six months, I've taken on alot more responsibility in my personal and business life which has taken me away from my duties with the Fast Eddie's Tour.

I work with my brother and over the last two years, he has acquired two ranches in south Texas. I volunteered to help him with the building and maintenance of hunting lodges along with the management of wildlife on both ranches. Little did I know how much time and effort this would take.

Don't get me wrong, I love what I'm doing but, simply put, the Tour has suffered from my lack of attention and I couldn't let that happen. Since the ranch project and my other personal responsiblities will be ongoing into the distant future, I thought it best to step aside.

With the influx of new people, new blood and ideas to the Tour, I see the Tour having a tremendous future.

Next month, the Tour will start it's tenth year. It's hard to believe that ten years ago, Lewis and I went into a small Mexican restaurant in downtown San Antonio to eat lunch and came up with the crazy idea of launching a regional 9 ball tour for Texas. We started sketching ideas out on napkins and before we knew it, the Tour was born with the major help of Mark Lewis and partners with the Fast Eddie's chain of pool establishments.

I can't thank enough the Fast Eddie's ownership, Olhausen Billiards, Ron Geyer with The Custom Cue Connection, Jack Kompan with Mystick Cues, Paul Somerall with S & S Custom Cues, James Hanshew with Hanshew Custom Cues, King Drake, The Billiard Factory and all the other vendors that helped make the Tour what it is today.

I'd also like to give a big thanks to Bill Fuller, Melinda Bailey (aka Trigger), Ray Hansen (Bigtruck), J.P. Gonzales and all the other players and spectators. It wouldn't have happened without your support.

And most of all to Lewis Jones, my partner in crime, ....................Well, you know, bud..........words can't describe. Take care of our baby.
