Nice looking SP. Question though.....your eBay description says the joint pin is 5/16" but it looks to me more like a 3/8". Maybe the photo's playing eyeball tricks on me......

Yeah, after a quick second look I noticed the brass insert....3/8" in a joint pin thread pitch is a wood-only application. Likewise, you'll only find 5/16" (14 or 18 tpi) screwed into metal.

Thanks Ken, I know you had to play with it when you took it home to put the new tip on. Maybe you should pick this one up before it's to late!!:D
