Stainless steel bike,...sounds like it would be a lot heavier than aluminum or fibre. What is the advantage of the stainless on a road bike application?

Steel rides better. About 1 lb heavier than good alum or carbon fiber

The most important places to have light weight on a bike (aside from the frame) are the parts that spin.Rims,tires,spokes,hubs,pedals, chain rings,chain etc,I believe the steel frame may be stiffer,and therefore transfer more pedal power to the rear wheel.The rear "triangle" of the frame and the frame in general is the most important component of course.I have been riding my DeRosa and Colnago,since the '70's.Full Campanolo,and some Cinelli parts.Just my 2 cents.
