Who would have paid $20 or so for coverage of the entire event akin to the US Open coverage? I know I would have, instead of getting to watch the edited version on TV or buying single matches after the fact on tape.

I am quite disappointed that so far the IPT has not given us a sniff of true live coverage of the events and IMNSHO that is critical to good TV viewing of pool based on seeing it both ways and always having the live coverage be about 100 times as exciting.

I would love if we could watch it. Maybe it will happen in the future events.

Your feelings echo my own. I hope there is room to accomodate viewership by both pool enthusiasts and the lay public.

$20. would be a little cheap it would be worth much more then that if the feed worked good. Actually the $35. they are charging is pretty cheap. I would more be curious how many would pay $100. to see the whole thing in the comfort of your own home?

Internet video coverage is not great, until I can have full screen clear video, internet video will remain a novelty and $10-20 is plenty for that quality of video today. On the other hand $35-40 for a full round coverage on Live PPV TV would be fine, and I would have paid for both the HOF round and the finals for a total of $70-80. The hard part is judging how much the average joe will pay, but I would never pay for anything but live PPV.

Then they could show a few matches at a later date on regular TV, But they must realize one of the things holding pool back is the lack of free prime time live coverage like other sports, without some free live coverage on TV on the weekend, pool will not cross over into the much larger audience it rightfully deserves.

Give people a taste of some live early rounds, advertise the finals as a $40 PPV event during the broadcast and you might just get a bunch of people to subscribe to see the finals, especially for the $500,000 dollar finals, The PPV could show some highlights of the rounds right before the finals too.

One thing for sure, this will be very interesting to watch unfold over the next 2 years.
