False.

If you have a personal account and receive a payment sourced from a credit card, you will pay 4.9% + $.30. However, if you have a premier account, you only pay 2.9% + $.30. A personal account limits you to 5 credit card payments in a 12 month period, so anyone that actually uses their PP account much is most likely using a Premier account.

This morning. The fee info I posted is straight from their site. I'm guessing you received a payment from someone outside of the US?

BTW, 14.04 is only 3.9% of 352.

I had a transaction last Sept 1 and I have a Premier Account. Transaction was US$105 and Fee was US$3.87. The fee is 3.69%.

I just sold something to a guy in the UK and it was 3.9% as it is for all overseas transactions.

Ding ding ding... we have a winner. Paypal is pretty open about all of their fees, and it's a pretty simple structure. Not nearly as complicated as the listing fees on eBay.

If you go to www.paypal.com and click on the "Fees" link at the bottom of the page, you'll see a chart that explains most of it. The cross border transactions are where it starts to get expensive.

At the end of the year ebay is going to halt payments with personal checks and money orders and only allow paypal for payment purchases. Sounds like a monopoly to me and a good anti-trust suit will probably be filed if they go through with it. Just another example of corporate greed!

There is a class action lawsuit against Ebay and PayPal as we speak. It has to do with PayPal transaction funding. If you funded a PayPal transaction using a source other than your credit card between February 1, 2004 and the present, you may be eligable to receive a benefit under this settlement. Ebay/PayPal has settled for $3.5 million.:(

Ahhh.. But E-bay will claim they are doing it to "protect the customer" from all those greedy scammers out there. Of course they won't mention that a scammer using PayPal is as likely to get away with it as one asking for a check, as PayPal's "protection" is ludicrous.
