well i can say for a fact don is not out to rob anyone....i have just purchased a 95 phillippi from him for 1600.00 and when i asked him what he had in it he told me and i was very comfortable knowing what he had in the cue.....and upon recieving it i called the maker and he told me he would not build that cue again for less than 2200.00 so i believe i got a great deal...and may i say that the cue play every bit as well as i was told it would....don was even nice enough to install new moori tips on it for me.....its nice to know that there are people out there that dont try to gouge you on used or older cues....there are alot of names i could mention but i will refrain from that .....don is a great guy and has become a great friend....has opened my eyes to alot of things in this world...so believe him .....hes a great business man....will do much more business with him in the future....feel free to email me at ne1wannabet@aol.com with any question on my cue....i will be happy to tell you all about it......juston coleman

Very true kokopuffs, but how do you try the hit over the internet? Do you know many shops where they let folks come in and chaulk the cues and play with them before buying? I don't. How many tryers before you have to sell it used? Just want your opinion.
Don

When I made up my mind that I was going to buy a new cue I found a place that let me chalk up the cues & play with them before buying. I tried Joss, Pechauer, Action & perhaps another that I don't recall at this moment.

This place was Diamond's Billiards & Pub - Fort Collins Colorado.

Sounds like a great place to do business. I am happy to hear that there are places like that. Congradulations, hope you continue to do business with them in the future.

Did you get a $540 for $350???????

Fearless- The Pechauer cue that Don Purdy has is a steal!!! Even if you buy it, shoot with it for a while to get the feel, you can still sell it and break even or even make a few bucks (that's up to you). Offers like this don't come along too often, if ever!

Too late now since he has withdrew the offer to me but it was my loss. I'm probably going to take my time to look around now then.

Fearless, I really hope you find the cue that you want. I still have the first custom cue I purchased when I came back to the game. It is still one of my favorate playing cues. It is a 97" Espiritu. Keith Mc Cready wants to buy it. He is a friend of mine. I even told him I would give it to him if he wanted it. I understand your mistrust. You can't be to careful these days. Good luck in finding your new cue.
Best Regards, Don P.

I have a JP model Pechauer that I've been playing with for about 3 years. It's got the implex joint and I was always very happy with the way it played.......until I tried a Predator shaft on it about a year and a half ago. Wow! It has a particular audible ping that I have gotten used to. Not a buzz or rattle, a solid sounding and feeling ping at the point of tip impact. I've tried other cues before and after and have always gone back to the Pechauer. I also had to send mine in because the Predator shaft twisted the joint pin out. The folks up in Green Bay at Pechauer did the repair work free of charge, less my shipping one-way to them. Jerry is a very nice guy who seems to really enjoy hearing that people love his cues.

ragbug74, Jerry does make some quality cues. I appriciate anybody who makes a good cue. I offered the guy a hell of a deal on the P-10. Dam nice cue. I just don't think he knows what he wants or understands what I was trying to do for him. I do wish him the best. I just get a little bent when someone questions my integrity after I give them four referances. I am not pissed at the guy at all. He just wasted a lot of my time.
Don

No hard feelings at all, and at that time, yeah, I didn't exactly know what I want. But I just want to say that you gave me those four references in the same e-mail that you withdrew the deal. I didn't mean to question your integrity, but you were right. I wasn't sure what I wanted at the time.

Sorry about anything, but thanks again!

No problem fearless, if you find that a Pechauer is what you want, let me know. I am not upset either. I just got a little peeved. The ol'lady was wanting me to get in bed, I kept telling her I would be right there. Then I had to go to the basement, snap pictures, download, and email. Then you asked me if it was new after I told you it was. Still has the sticker on it. That was in the picture. I do hope you find a nice cue.

Well, right now I'm checking out the Predator 3K1 (Not sure whether to opt for the Z or 314 Shaft) with the Moori Med. Tip

Looks pretty good so far, just the decision of whether to get the Z or 314 Shaft.

I just want to thank you again for the opportunity and hope everything goes well for you!

Thanks!

Fearless- You originally said you were looking at spending around $250 and maybe $300 if you had to. Yet you're looking at a Predator and the 314 shaft. You are spending around $200 just for a 314 shaft!! You really need to just go shoot with some different cues that people are shooting with or buy a cheaper model of what you are thinking about, shoot with it first to see if you like the feel, then sell it and buy one that you like. Take people up on their offers (Don Purdy), offers like this don't come along too often!

Or at the very least look at the Predator Sneaky Pete SPJU & SPJLW. The hit is going to be the same as the 3K-1 & isn't going to hit you so hard in the wallet. Saving around a $100 will go a long way into purchasing other items such as a tip change, case, break stick, jump cue etc.

I know a guy that has a Predator SPJU & he does very well with it - from both a playing & money making perspective.
