Pechauer Cues

A lot of players would argue that Pechauer cues are custom made and not production.

Again, seems to me this is splitting hairs.

Well, to me personally, if the identical cue can be purchased by a countless number of people, than I consider it a production cue...if it's actually custom made to the customers specifications, and is a one of a kind, like my Bill Schick, than I consider it custom, if that makes sense...

I finally ordered this Pechauer cue. Got it from Seybert's. Custom or Production, it's all good. I guess one might say it's sort of a cross between the two.

When I saw that Buddy Hall played with Pechauer at one point that was good enough for me. And hopefully I will be getting my new Joss cue later this week!

No cross between the two, it's a production cue, like most others have said.

I know this is probably a dumb question but I've had something similar to this happen before.

I had the Elkmaster tip put on the Pechauer CF shaft. Seybert's order form says the Elkmaster tip is 14mm. The Pechauer CF shaft is 12.8. I am going to assume that Seybert's will turn the Elkmaster tip down so it fits perfectly on the 12.8mm shaft.

Correct?

Before I started building my own cues, Pechauer was all I played with. Great cue from a great company. I still use my Pechauer as a break cue. The Black Ice shaft is amazing.

The one that is my main player is the exact one as the diamond in the rectangle cue in your picture. Love that cue.

My main player was the one to the left of that one. I got the one like yours a couple years ago. I wanted a spare Pro-shaft and that one was used/like new. I got the whole cue for slightly more than a new shaft.

The one on the far right is a Prototype for their Danny Basavich Limited edition cue (Here's a link)

Just wondering what everyone thinks of Pechauer cues? I am thinking about purchasing one and just wondering if anyone here plays with a Pechauer. Or knows anything about them recently?

It's always nice to have some good recommendations on a cuemaker before purchasing.

p.s. people, don't start. I am talking about insults, twisting things around, trashing & bashing, etc. Just don't start.

Pechauer is a great company. The own their own timberland, harvest their own trees, make all their joints and screws in their own machine shop, and provide outstanding customer service. They will make any custom cue you want, and you can select any joint, etc. On top of that they are very reasonably priced. What people like is always subjective, but you can't go wrong with a Pechauer.
