Pechauer ferrule

1) Does anyone know the ferrule material Pechauer uses for his break cues? I have a customer that brought me a 'break' shaft that made noise when breaking....the tip was rotating on the ferrule, when put in a lathe, and grab the tip with pliers while rotating, the tip came out. There was a fiber pad between the tip and ferrule.
2) With all respect meant, Is this his method of doing it? I suspect not, and I believe it was the last guy that replaced the tip.
I want to do the repair as close to the original design as possible. I am attaching a picture solely for the purpose of showing the method used for ID purposes, so please...no negative comments.
Thanks,
Dave

Just talked to one of the top guys at pechauer. He says not ours! I forgot to ask on the ferrule material.

Thanks, I really didn't think it was their method....I talked to a few people tonight and have found that the local guy that did the tip change, read on here how to do this for break tips so they don't fall off...
It was supposed to be phenolic, but it is defiantly not that, as it was mushroomed horribly. IMO, a bad idea used to compensate for lack of proper prep and install of a tip. Should never have to modify a ferrule to this point, when everything was working great before the tip change, IMHO. Tomorrow it will have a new ferrule and white diamond tip :D
