Phenolic and getting pads/tips to stick

It works great for me. What glue are you using, and how are you prepping the surfaces?

You have to make sure that the surface is nice and rough also that the surface is flat. Their should be no Wobble with a dry fit.

I sand flat, clean with alcohol, and then cut lines into the faces of both tip and ferrule with a razor blade. Glue both sides, hold tight with tailstock for 5 minutes. Never lost a tip ever.

Better than Loctite. (In my experience)

Better in what way?

This is a common battle if you search here. Locktite vs Gorilla. Here is my two cents.

I used Locktite gel at first and had great results. I eventually had one tip come off and decided to try Gorilla super glue gel after seeing it recommended as well. In all fairness it was a house stick so who knows the abuse level and I could have made a mistake on installation.

Two reasons I like it better:
Maybe this helps...? "Rubber elements form the makeup of the Gorilla Super Glue giving it more bonding strength and impact resistance. This ensures the bonded materials stick more firmly giving you the best results for your project."

While both seem equal enough and each getting the majority of the recommendations, Gorilla is cheaper. All though the bottles look the same size for relatively same price Locktite is 0.14oz while Gorilla is 0.53oz

As far as phenolic I have had no problems using Gorilla on it. Here is a Bulletproof tip I did (which I was told was also difficult to glue) on phenolic pad, and the guy has been breaking and jumping for a couple of years now with no issue.

Used Super Glue Gel since its inception.
NO concerns.
Did 100's of cue tips, for my rooms and private installs.
This problem is installer issue.
Not all car mechanics KNOW how to work on cars.

If you're having problems with tips popping off it's usually bad prep or bad glue. Buying cheap glue is false economy. What you loose in return business is much more than the price of the glue.
Loctite gel, 401 or 454 are all great. The impact though Gorilla glue is also good. When gluing on V-tek pads or similar ones like Ignite, I make sure to use fresh glue, usually Loctite Gel. I have seen so many of those pads pop off due to glue starvation from the factory

Hey, someone send the OP a fresh toothpaste tube of Tweetens. He'll get some practice with that stuff'.

I'd make a witty reply to this but seeing your support of the Browns, you probably A. wouldn't get it and B. being a fan of a perennial loser is enough punishment
