Ok. I know that alot of cue makers/repairers will not touch a Philippine cue. But i have to ask anyway... I have an Audrick cue by Patrick Hermans of the Philippines. I have had several of his cues and never had a problem. If you check around you will find that i buy these cues then give them away to worthy causes or maybe even the annual CCB tournament each year. Anyway, back to my problem. On the butt, below the wrap 2 of the ivory diamonds have cracked and can be felt thru the finish. What i would like to do is see if anyone can repair and refinish this cue for me at a reasonable price. Please pm me and let me know. Like i said, i know alot of people don't like them. but what the hell. by giving them away like i do i am atleast making some people happy and that is all that matters to me. thanks in advance for taking the time to read this post..............................mike

Am sorry that you're not getting any responses here. Maybe related to this? http://www.easypooltutor.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=10255 There you'll read consumer sentiments.

IMO, the understanding and assistance should go both ways. Asian cues' wood shrink when it ends up in North America while US cues' woods swell when they get to Asia and it doesn't matter if the maker is considered a cuemaking god.

Maybe no one is replying because they are getting ready for the Expo which is just around the corner. Did you consider that.

Coming from you Mike, this is a very valid reason. I guess he'll just have to ask again after the expo.

It looks to me like you have already broken federal law by importing a cue with ivory. To export it and import it again could well cost you dearly.

Beware of importing a cue with ivory from out of the United States!

Good Cuemaking,

Well the only way i can answer that is to ask him if it is prebanned ivory. I do know that this cue was stopped and inspected in Alaska (via FED-EX) and was passed thru. Then again i know someone else who had a cue come thru Alaska also from the Philippines and they seized it. So maybe it is prebanned and he has papers to prove it. I am not trying to start an international incident here or break any federal laws. Just trying to get it repaired so i can just give it away like i do all the others.....geeeez....give a decent guy a break sometime... i am not trying to hurt your business am I.........mike

Hi Michael
I don't think it matters what class the ivory was, if it's flagged, your not getting it. They are tightening up on exotic wraps also from what I hear.

Impossible. Any and all ivory entering the USA is considered illegal. It makes no difference how old it is or its legality in the country of origin. Its still illegal to be brought into this country.

I dont really think anyone is trying to stop you from repairing your cue or to get you in trouble, just explaining the law.

Tap, Tap Dick.
Michael:
It might have come thru Alaska but it wasn't inspected. I know what your intentions are, so doesn't everyone else but your intentions have absolutely nothing to do with the legalities. Turning Stone is coming, I'll explain in detail what customs would like us to do, the first word you'll say after I explain it will be spelled with 4 letters.
