I'd sure like to see this tourney unfold. This country is blessed with great talent and some of their unknown upcoming talent could make their marks here.
I'm picking Orcollo to win this one.

I'd be curious about the players who finish in the top 1/4. I wonder how many will be in the IPT in a year or two. ( I guess a lot )

I don't know Dave. I think that getting into the IPT now is going to be a lot tougher. The initial Filipino invasion of the American pool scene was easy because it came at a time when 9-ball was the game that was gaining popularity. They came when the game was still being refined where most just played area positioning against their spot positioning. When getting out of a safe is just trying to make contact with the object ball. The world soon saw and studied how they play and have caught up. IPT came and IMO at the right time when 9-ball is starting to get boring. 8-ball is brought back into the limelight as a high-level skill game and the Filipno's advantage came into play again. They're used to maneuvering around a full rack, tight pockets, slow cloth and spot-on positioning. But that won't last long specially with the incentives from IPT and now, the awareness of players around the world at what gives the Filipinos the advantage and proven dominance.

Soon, what's natural here (pool culture) won't be enough to be considered as a force to reckon with.
