I had a situation in a straight pool game last night at Jimmy's Pro Billiards, where I was questioning my instinct of keeping a run of 17 going. I could play a tough shot down the rail on the four ball, getting shape on a trouble ball mid-table leading to a secondary breakout, or I could play a safe and hope my opponent wouldn't return a better safe. For some inexplicable reason, I thought of Philosoraptor and saw this image in my mind. After weighing this ancient wisdom, I played the shot, missed, then realized I should not use Philosoraptor in my pre-shot routine.
