Phoenix Six Shooters apparently out of business

The problem was the owner. I thought two brothers owned the place... Twins I thought...

The carpet was ripped everywhere, and everyone tripped on it. They used duct tape to repair it. They taped it up after a flood, temporarily... They decided to keep the insurance money instead of replacing the carpet lol

They never cleaned the tables often enough. They cleaned them every night and, I think, once a week a couple regulars would clean the balls and cloth (Charles and Giebo)

Some of the girls were druggies who worked there, and the others just behaved like high school kids. That is incorrect... They were all users :) They put out too! And most of the time, they were pretty good looking... The standard theme for their waitresses was the stripper look :)

The owner accused the manager of stealing money and trying to railroad him, and I knew the manager J.R. personally, and he was a stand up guy. I thought the owners caught the regional manager (forget his name), not JR, stealing. Rumor was he was taking the quarters from the bar boxes and ended up with 30k. The owners hired him back to pay off the debt... That guy was a real ***** too... just as bad as the owners... JR was a good guy...

They never replaced any cushions during the 9 years it was open, and the tables were second-hand tables from the Golden 8-ball. I made them replace cushions on one of their tables. I think it was 20 or 22, can't remember :) It was one of the tables behind 14 and 15. It was the other shimmed table (not 26). The job was botched REAL bad and they had them come back out to do it again... They fu.cked that one up too :( All the cushions were coming off. I watched the kid do it and he only glued one side... I told him contact glues require to coat both surfaces, let it get tacky, and then stick them together... He said he knew what he was doing... I bet that table still has cushions falling off today :(Calling their tables second hand is not fair. They had 40 Gold Crowns. Must have had 15 9' GC, 11 valley coin ops, and 20 8' GC... Granted they were all GC 3s but still, a nice quality table. They just, rarely, kept them up and never had qualified people set them up...

Hey, a$$hole, who do you think you are? How dare you sit there and talk smack about Six Shooters and table 26? Why, I outta kick your a$$! I was a sniper in Nam! I beat Ronnie Allen, Max Eberle, and threatened to kill any road player who went in there! I beat them all though, before I threatened to kill them. I got a gun in my car if you don't believe me.

We gave Jim (table 26) the nick name "unibomber". He fit the personality :)

I never saw him play anybody except Mike Pankoff (sp). He only played 1 pocket so I never got to guage his speed... My guess was a 9 speed but everybody said he played jam up... I never saw it and would like my chances today...

I feel you have to take your own life into your hands to go in there. Real seedy area and the last time I was there, they had duct tape on the tables.

I was in there once about 10 years ago. Definitely not a place for any real pool player. I stayed for about an hour, bought a t shirt, and never came back! What a sh.ithole that place was... Makes Sixshooters look real nice...

Lucky Cue caters to a the hispanic player, if you are an non hispanic with little skill in Spanish, or Hispanic Culture it might not be wise to go there after dark.:p
