Hi Guys! I dont see these too often. Anyone know the good, the bad and the ugly about this joint? It appears to be a strong joint. Thanks!
 
Piloted joints done correctly are strong and it makes the second shaft easy to line up to the butt also. Those are the positives I can think of. Might could think of a few more if I thought for a while. I feel the flat faced wood to wood joint has a more natural feel and is the all around best playing joint.
