My grandkids are begging me for a ping pong top. I've got a 9' Gold crown and the table toppers are 5x9. Is a topper a viable option? Most I've seen advertised are for an 8 footer. Mitch
If you have a lamp over the table it's going to be in the way... all tops are 5x9. Problem is to find a net that fits on a 9 footer because the panels will be flush to the edge of the rails. Some of the retractable models could fit
Yes, it can be done. There are several brands of ping pong conversion tops that fit on a 4-1/2 x 9 foot table. The trick is that, with 9-foot pool tables, the ping pong top will not hang over on the width so the net cannot clamp on in the usual way. So, there has to be a special way for the net to attach. Before putting the ping pong top on my 9-foot Anniversary, I put a heavy duty cover on the pool table, then some phone books in the middle of the table to help support the weight of the ping pong top, and then I finally add the top.
