A lot of organizations have money for employee training and rewards.

At my employer they listen to pitches about expanding or building community or networking hour or social hour.

If I tell my company buy a pool table then I will create a pool club.

What is a better way to approach the money people at work or school about happy hour in pool room?

Or asking for work sponsorship to create an APA team that is for charity?

I went to the University of Washington. They had a LOT of 9ft tables and a couple 3 cushion tables in a big room for a great many years. They never had an organized club or regular tournaments. Just rented time. One year I came in 2nd in a tournament they had for a sort of qualifier for an intercollegiate tournament to be played in Montana later on.

The first place winner couldn't go so they called me to see if I was interested. I inquired about the logistics of it and found there was nothing whatsoever that they would provide. I go on my own entirely. My money, my transportation, and lodging costs.
I told them to go pound sand! I guess someone on the football team needed a new helmet or something. Anyway, they had no interest in any of it really. Same with the bowling alley they had from what I heard.

Were you part of the group to organize and propose the campus add billiard tables?

Billiards is the only sport where governance was stolen and still kept away from players.

Sounds like it may or may not be on purpose.

I wasn't part of any of that. All the tables had been there for a great many years before I went there. Old 9 ft. Brunswick tables about a dozen of them from what I remember. Not sure if there are as many now. I could swear the cue balls were worn to undersize.
