Hiya Guys,

Is there such a thing as a Plain Jane cue from Bender?? I've seen the multiple points cues PLENTY....but is there a "starter" cue made by this cuemaker?

I've heard that they play pretty well, and have yet to hit with one.

I wouldn't be opposed to giving one a day in court....but can't shell out the 2500 to get a points + veneers and inlays cue.

Hit me up if you've got some good intel.....or a PJ Bender available.

On a side note......

MERRY X-MAS TO YOU ALL. MAY YOU ALL HAVE A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY SEASON...AND HOPE SANTA TREATS YOU WELL (if that's the way you celebrate it, that is)!! :) :)

If I'm not mistaken, you could have one made...

I think IndyQ has some coming in for around $1300 near the beginning of the new year...
Still a lot of money, of course. Lol :p

Contact Roy Malott of IndyQ:
roy@indyq.com

That's who I spoke to about the same thing around a month ago. He'll tell you whats up with plain jane Benders...

Merry Christmas.

I believe Bender started making cues with Star logo that are suppose to be entry level cues. See attached.

I wish you posted this few hours earlier as I have a nice Bender with 5 high and 5 low points and inlays in the butt sleeve that I'm letting go for around $1.5K. UNFORTUNATELY, I promised someone that I will hold the cue until Friday.

UNFORTUNATELY for me, that someone that I was holding the cue for has backed out. Let me know if you are interested, Rat.

This started out as a plain jane but I added the rings, ivory sleeved joint & leather wrap, the butt cap is phonelic. Mike will build you one if you want I'm sure. I got this From Roy at www.indyq.com

Seems we are in the same Circles Of Pool...
In addition to your new found passion (BB), interest in the cue you will hopefully test hit some time soon and now Bender.

The cues by Mike Bender are awesome and I generally play with a Bender most of the time. Like the feel of the cue in my hands, balance and the overall quality of his construction. If you want to test run a Bender, just let me know. I currently have one shaft with a Moori III (medium with some play on the tip) and one shaft with a Sniper that was just put on (will be testing this tip out this week). My cue is simple in construction but it plays very well and looks so much better wrapped in lizard. And this one is not for sale but given you a chance to see how nice the cues are made and to test drive the playability. I personally would like to test out your 4-point BB.

When you are ready for a cue, if you want new you will have to contact Roy at Indyq and just let him know that both Jeffrey and I sent you his way.

Merry Christmas,
Myron

I just got one. Ebony on ebony. Standard Bender rings. White with dbl black irish linen. 2 shafts 13mm with ivory ferrules. I waited 11 months for it. So yes, there are plain jane benders. 19.5 oz that probably has a weight bolt.

I really like it.

Bender

I think Mike Bender makes one of the best cues on the market. About 4 years ago Bill Schick said he thought Mike Bender was one of the best young cuemakers around. I think (IMO) that he is a Perfectionist when it comes to cues. Everything will line up exactly perfect, even when you tighten the shaft all pieces line up. High price or Low price they all hit the same. Great Cuemaker. (IMO) Thanks, Casey

Agreed. I was contemplating a Bender awhile back...
As well as a Capone and a Nitti.

....needless to say, went with Nitti this time around. But Bender isn't leaving my list of cues to try anytime soon...

:D

Mike Bender was taught his techniques by David Kersenbrock. Mike worked for Omega during its inception until he left to make Bender cues. In my opinion, they are one of the best hitting cues period. They are in the kersenbrock family and almost identical to Omega DPK cues without the high prices. Mike only makes about 50 cues per year versus Southwests 250 cues. I heard he was sick last year and only made about 30 new cues, just what I heard, Im not sure if its true or not. I have a 5 point for sale wikth a gaboon ebony nose and 5 pts with Lizard wrap. I just received it but am playing with my RC3 and older Kersenbrock and dont need the distraction of another cue to get use to since my game is bad enough. this Bender is near mint and everything straight. 13mm tips. email me for pics at conslr101@cs.com

Thanks, Myron. Much appreciated. I remember you mentioning the Bender a couple times....and you got my wheels spinnin' on it.

I pick up my 4 point BB cue Tuesday. If you like, we might be able to swing some table time this coming weekend.

Hit me up in a PM, if you want, with your plans for the next week or so.

Be good, sir. Merry X-mas to you and yours.

Jazz, did you get your cue from Erik Lee, I might have seen it in person. Great looking inlays. his pointwork is the best, sharp as a razor. Deacon

Deacon....check your e-mail, sir.
Steve...I await your bag of tricks!! :) :)

Hope you all had a great Christmas day....and my best to each of ya in the new year!!!
