I think your best bet at that end of the state would be Fast Eddies in New Milford CT. Nice clean place and the own is a nice guy that loves pool.

Not sure, either, about Southbury (I'm actually a NY'er that strays into CT on occasion), but I can speak for Fast Eddies. It is my one of my two "home base" rooms. Very clean place, equipment meticulously maintained, and owner (Eddie Locke) that loves the game and the people that play it. Plus, there's players here of all abilities -- including players the calibre of Phil Davis and Jeremy Sossei, if you want that level of competition.

Fast Eddies is about 25 minutes from Southbury. According to Google Maps, you take Interstate 84 (westbound) for 14 miles, to Exit 7 (US-7 North / US-202 East) for about 9 miles to Old State Road, and when you make the left onto Old State Road, you'll immediately see Fast Eddies (you can't miss it).

Here's the exact GoogleMaps link:

Let me know if you're going to be there -- I'd welcome the opportunity to meet a fellow AZB'er and to offer you some friendly competition.

Oh, and btw, remember where you are going to be -- the northeast US. This is big table (9-footer) country, unlike the midwest. Usually, barboxes are only found in bars here; there are a few rooms that specialize in barboxes, but they're a rarity. (An example is Big Shot Billiards in both Vernon and East Windsor, CT, and is where the APA Regionals are held.)

re: Fast Eddies

i was able to make about an hour to get over to Fast Eddie's lastnight and it was a really pleasant experience. beautiful tables which rolled beautifully (and really fast). my thanks to both of the guys who recommended it.

i wish i would have had more time to try to hook up with my fellow AZBer's, but when (or if) i wasgoing to be available was so unsettled due to the work i came out here to do (help set up a datacenter i helped architect) kept everything very fluid.

thanks for the invite and especially the recommendation,
seth
