Plain Jane Joss West

I have a plain jane JossWest with two shafts that I wish to sell. The cue was supposed to be sold to a fellow AZB member that wanted to do escrow with Scot at Proficient Billiards. Well I sent the cue to Scot and then never heard from the buyer again. Cost me $50 and a month of time.
Anyway, the cue is in perfect condition. While Scot had it I went ahead and re-finished the cue, put a new Irish Linen wrap on it and replaced a cracked collar on one of the shafts. The cue has two shafts...one 29" and one 31". The buttcap has the J with the sideways W. This is a players cue and hits a ton!!! The work I had done to refinish the cue cost me 175.00.
The first $650 gets this beauty. I will be taking some pictures this weekend and will post them ASAP. For general knowledge I have had dealing with Fast-n-Loose.

If interested please email me at jollyball50@earthlink.net or just PM me here.

PS: I will also be selling an original It's George Tan Leather Orstrich case.
its a 1x2. I will sell as a package for $750 cash.

Thanks for your time....

That does suck, but it's better to lose $50 then lose $650 and no cue either..

I was going to let this go and not post anything about our failed transaction, however since you brought it up I will reply.

I saw the auction on Ebay and was considering purchasing the cue, however felt a tad uncomfortable since you had 1 negative feedback in the past 30 days at that time so I went past it.

Later that evening I was going through the Wanted/For Sale here and saw the thread for it, I shot you a PM to verify condition of the cue was as stated in the auction and upon receiving your reply that it was I felt more than comfortable with using the BIN feature to end the auction.

I used the buy it now feature and dropped the check in the mail next day. I sent you a PM and an E-mail letting you know that payment had been mailed out.

The next day while looking on E-bay I noticed that you were not a registered user any longer and now had 3 negative feedback (alarm time for me).

I attempted contacting you via e-mail and telephone for the next two days with no response. I then wrote you an e-mail letting you know that I was calling the bank to have the check cancelled and provided you with my cell and house phone number, which suprise I immediately received a phone call.

You explained the situation about you sending a shaft not as described for one of your latest auctions and not wanting to refund part of the auction amount to the buyer as "it doesn't cost that much to fix it".

This made me thankful I cancelled the check. We then agreed upon using Proficient Billiards escrow service which I agreed to split with you. You said you would ship the cue and case to him the next day...

A week later I got a call from you saying you had been out of town and had just shipped the cue.

A week after that I finally receive pictures and description from Scot which include a cracked joint ring on one shaft (previously not mentioned) as well as a deeply soiled wrap.

I was a little upset about the ring (mostly because you didnt mention it), the wrap I was planning on replacing so it wasnt a big deal. I e-mailed Scot and cc'd you saying cue was not as described but I would bite the money and have him fix it while it was there, and to please send me pricing info and I would include it with the money order.

I heard nothing from either of you after three days, so I sent out an e-mail stating the same thing and requesting someone contact me. I figure Scot is a busy man, so give it some time.

Another week goes by and I receive a call from you saying again you have been out of town for a week on business (you are a busy person I suspect) and asking me what I thought about the cue, I let you know I was unhappy about the fact you didnt disclose the damage to the ring and posted pictures of the cue (on ebay) which were obviously taken when the cue was in better condition. I also let you know as soon as Scot sent me a reply or e-mail with regards to the cue I would mail the money order, which you expressed was fine with you and informed me you would call Scot and get back to me.

Yet another week goes by (I am done with the transaction at this point) and I get a call from you (you are obviously drunk or high or a combination of the two) and you are asking about the cue I recap what we talked about on our last conversation and you tell me again you will call Scot.

That was the last I heard from James Jollie.

Just wanted to clear up that you didnt send this out and not hear from me.

Sorry forgot to mention that cue also did not roll straight when together. Contrary to what I was told when I asked (prior to bidding)

I was not re-listing this cue on AZB to bash anyone. As you noticed I did not mention any names. As far as I was concerned it was a failed deal. Anyway you must feel guilty about the transaction or you would have just left it alone. I did send the cue to Scot a week later but he did have it and he sent you emails. You responded to him once about the cost of refinishing the cue and asking me to fix the ring whick I did not know about and replied back to you I would. Scot told me you never replied back and never send the funds to purchase. I have had dealings with Scot many, many times and I have no reason to beleive that he lied about never hearing from you. Yes I has a problem with Ebay but if I was going to shaft anyone I would not have accepted a PERSONAL CHECK would I ?

I'm sorry our deal failed. Matybe it was both of our faults but like I said MikeH I did not mention names...you told on yourself !!!

Anyone that would like to confirm this cue can call Scot at Proficient Billiards and ask him. Just mention the failed Hawaii deal, he will remember.

Have a nice day....
